SNOQUALMIE PASS, Wash. — It took fewer than five hours for social media to work its magic Tuesday and help officials with the Washington State Department of Transportation locate a tiny traveler who lost a very special friend during the Memorial Day holiday weekend.

In a tweet from its main account, the department wrote just before 11 a.m. EDT that someone reached out to them saying they found a stuffed dinosaur Friday on the side of eastbound Interstate 90 just past Snoqualmie Pass, KIRO-TV reported.

“The dino wants to get back to its family. Anyone have a lead so we can help reunite it?” the department wrote.

About three hours later, the account posted an update noting that the family being sought may have been located.

“Working on getting the reunion set up!!!!! Stay tuned!” the department wrote.

A little over an hour later, the department confirmed “a reunion is being worked on ASAP” and shared a photo of the plush toy and its boy, identified only as Kameron, taken by his mother before they were separated.
