ALLEGANY — The Allegany American Legion Riders Chapter 892 is conducting a teddy bear drive through the end of September.

All stuffed animals donated to the drive will be distributed to pediatric patients at Olean General Hospital.

“Having some experience with a hospitalized grandchild, I can’t even imagine the fear they must experience. Anything we can do to provide a moment of comfort is well worth it,” said Bret Marvin, Legion Riders president.

The American Legion will accept donations through Sept. 30 in hopes of adding more to the collection of stuffed animals that were gathered in June through the annual Dice Run. Donations of new and used stuffed animals will be accepted at the Allegany Legion, 4350 Route 417.
